Dr. Gregory Grant
Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Gregory Grant, one of Photon’s founders, is passionate about the delivery of patient care. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric fracture treatment, Dr. Grant has dedicated his life outside the OR to championing technology solutions that actually help doctors help their patients. In addition to obtaining multiple medical device and healthcare technology patents, he was also the driving force behind developing the workflow solutions that have rapidly evolved into the Photon suite of products.

A graduate of the University of Cambridge (Gonville & Caius College) and Tulane University School of Medicine, Dr. Grant returned to Phoenix, where he was born and raised, to complete his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. He is currently Chairman or Medical Director of Orthopedics Surgery at multiple hospital systems in the Greater Phoenix Area, and the Chairman and CEO of Photon.


Dr. John Vanderhoof
Founder and Chief Medical Information Officer

Dr. John Vanderhoof is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric trauma care, hand surgery, and wound management. He is also a founder of Photon Medical Communications and a major contributor to the workflow and architectural development of Photon’s suite of powerful solutions. John’s dedication to the efficient and effective delivery of health care to patients has been the inspiration that drives his continued leadership within the Company. With an impressive record of accomplishment within medicine and a technical savvy which surpasses that of the average physician, Dr. Vanderhoof is the perfect fit to lead Photon’s development efforts from a clinical perspective.

Post his studies at the University of Maryland and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Dr. Vanderhoof completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and passed the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery Examination in the 99th percentile. He has served as Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center and the National Chief Clinical Consultant of the Indian Health Service.


Jason Blood
Chief Technology Officer

Jason is a career IT professional with over 19 years experience. He has been a key player in several successful start-ups ranging from social media to government portals. As Chief Technology Officer at Photon, Jason is the principal architect of the company’s powerful and sophisticated software platform. Prior to joining, Jason established himself as a premiere consultant in the Web and Mobile technology space around the Twin Cities. His software has won several awards including the Microsoft Pinnacle Award and the MACO Best Technology Solution Award.


Chris Radella
Chief Operating Officer

Chris is a veteran healthcare professional with a background in the management of hospital finance, operations and performance improvement. He spent 15 years with HCA as a corporate associate. During this time Mr. Radella has held leadership positions within multiple areas including accounts receivable, quality assurance, project management and process improvement. With Photon, he is committed to forming, developing and maintaining key relationships with top customers and helping to drive the strategic direction of the business. Chris has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Florida State University.

Jack Craven
Director in Implementations

Jack’s background is in banking, financial services and consulting, with over 35 years of direct experience in strategic planning, acquisitions, systems integration and operations. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Photon in its early years, and is Founder and President of QE3 Leadership Solutions, Inc., a Veteran Owned Service Business (VOSB) engaging in management consulting, leadership development and training services with its primary focus on hiring veterans of America’s armed forces.  Jack graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, and has an MBA from Bryant University, Smithfield, RI.

Michael Vollmer
Chief Business Development Officer

Michael Vollmer is the Chief Business Development Officer for the Company’s international efforts and is responsible for developing the Company’s worldwide footprint, with a specific initial focus on the complex Swiss market. As a dual Swiss-American citizen, Michael has spent over 20 years living and working in Switzerland in several healthcare roles, including CEO of the first Swiss teleradiology company, Diagnostic Solutions Management (DSM). Michael has over 25 years of international market and healthcare experience, including VP International Business Development for Virtual Radiologic and NightHawk Radiology Services, General Manager of Redken, China, and as an executive for J.D. Power and Associates. Michael holds a degree in international business and philosophy from Loyola Marymount University and a J.D. in Law from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. He is a member of the California Bar.

Brent A Cope, FACHE
President – Arizona Market,

Brent began his career in hospital administration in 1987 in California. He spent most of his career serving in senior leadership positions including as CEO of hospitals ranging from 35 beds to 350. He has experience working with some of the largest hospital chains as well as not-for-profits and small physician owned organizations. Brent is originally from California where he earned an MBA and bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton. He has served on various community local boards including United Way, YMCA, the American Lung Association and a number of Chambers of Commerce.
